Things kicked off after the Christmas break in Division One with 9-1 home victories for all the leading squads.

Sonning Common and Peppard A overcame Kingfisher C, the visitors’ only joy coming as young Theo Kniep won over Jason Roberts.

Ed Lush and Daniel Moses completed the victory in fine style. Kingfisher A have a game in hand and pushed aside Sonning Common and Peppard C despite Danny Dockree performing well to beat Rishaan Sawant 3-0 and winning an end over both Martin Adams and Hari Gehlot.

Kingfisher B remain in touch as they defeated struggling Sonning Common and Peppard B who once again could only muster two players.

Their sole point came when Tom Astle beat Cath Venning but neither he nor Tim Raby could challenge Julian Telford and Graham Mendick as Kingfisher ran out 9-1 winners.

Sonning Sports climbed to fourth as they pipped Kingfisher D 6-4. Expectedly, Dave Croucher powered through to achieve his maximum, but Kingfisher’s Mike Douglas fought hard to gain a double over Nick Sears and Paul Savage to limit the damage.

Tilehurst RBL A won a close match against Sonning Common & Peppard D 6-4.

Division Two leaders Reading FC had a very straightforward 10-0 win over bottom club Kingfisher H with all ten sets being won three straight.

Second placed Kingfisher F struggled to beat a two man Tidmarsh C 6-4 with Simon Craig getting a fine maximum for Tidmarsh. Tidmarsh B edged past Our Lady of Peace A 6-4 with Rob McMillan getting a maximum for Tidmarsh, the set of the night saw Tidmarsh’s Barry Carter recover from two games down to beat Darek Kaminski in five.

Kingfisher E beat Kingfisher G 7-3 with Andrew Adair and Satej Jaywant recording maximums for the E team. Springfield A had a good 7-3 win at Tilehurst RBL B despite Tilehurst’s Kate Maksimenko’s maximum.

Springfield’s Captain Jason King played well on the night recovering from two games down to beat Nick Lean and then almost beating Kate before losing in five.

Sonning Sports D maintained their top place in division 4 by beating Springfield B 8-2 with hat trick from James Miller and doubles from John Churchouse and Cris Reynolds.

Sonning Common & Peppard F remain in second place by beating their G team club mates 9-1, Gerry Bacon, Graeme Streets and Mike Casserley all hitting trebles with the G team successful in the doubles set.

Kingfisher K had a nice 8-2 win at Our Lady of Peace E, Mick Mitcham winning all three while Tilehurst RBL C beat Springfield C mainly thanks to a great maximum from Linda King which helped to a 6-4 win.

Roland Marslin obtained a good treble to help Our Lady of Peace F share the spoils at Sonning Sports C as the two teams battled out a 5-5 draw.
