READING FC fans have donated more than £3,000 to the Port Vale Supporters Club fundraiser to build a statue for one of their legendary ex managers.
Vale fans showed solidarity and support to Reading fans who stormed the pitch to get their match abandoned on Saturday in protest of owner Dai Yongge.
To reciprocate their appreciation for the support, Reading fans have now generously donated more than £2,000 in total to help the Port Vale Supporters Club build a statue of club icon John Rudge.
Port Vale Supporters Club said: “This is honestly incredible. Over £3,000 has now been donated.
“Thank you to every Reading FC fan, it’s heartwarming to see the football community come together in this way.
“To Sell Before We Dai and Supporters Trust at Reading, you have our full support in your fight.”
