READING FC has been issued a new winding up petition by HMRC due to an unpaid tax bill.
The off field issues continue to plague the club with owner Dai Yongge failing to pay the bill to HMRC which has seen the Royals issued a winding up petition for the second time in a matter of months.
The club has been put up for sale with numerous parties said to be interested in taking over.
Ruben Selles’ side currently sit in 24th place in the League One table.
Owner Dai Yongge has had several financial issues since he took over the club in 2017 which has seen them deducted 16 points in total.
Protests from the club’s fans continue, with the most recent action seeing thousands of fans take to the streets to march from the town centre to the stadium before the team’s match against Portsmouth last Saturday.
The club is still under a transfer embargo for the foreseeable future due to the late payment of tax.
