READING FC manager Ruben Selles remains ‘confident’ that he can turn the club’s situation around after they lost out at home to Fleetwood Town.
In a clash between two teams in the League One relegation zone, Fleetwood came away with all three points with a stoppage time winner from Josh Vela.
“Of course I’m confident I can turn it around,” said Selles.
“At the end of the day, some of the situations are about putting it in the net and protecting better. We need to be more ruthless. It’s about us together trying to make it better.
“Everyone is devastated. I’m devastated. We know we can start the game better and do things better. We have been doing enough to get more from some of the games.
“The only ones that can turn the situation around are the players and the technical staff. We need to do it.”
Selles was disappointed with the start his team made as they fell behind just over a minute into the match.
He continued: “We didn’t start in the way we planned and were weak in our approach.
“David (Button) kept us in it with a couple of saves.
“We prepare to start quick and there were a lot of passes we missed and situations in the duels we were not engaging. There were situations where they put pressure on us and we didn’t react properly.
“It wasn’t until minute 28 or 29, until we came back and started to play the game.
“We were trying to win the game but were in a structure. It’s about execution when we were tired. We need to be more strong in those moments.”
