Ruben Selles reacts to Reading’s goalless draw with Burton – Reading Today Online

Reading v Bolton Wanderers

READING FC manager Ruben Selles believes his side deserved more from their goalless draw with Burton Albion.

Amid more protests again club owner Dai Yongge, the Royals were unable to pick up three points.

“I think we can create more, but we created enough to be on top of the game,” said Selles.

“We need to be more ruthless in the final third.

“It was a bit of a response from Saturday(the team selection), the week of training some of them had, and the situation in the RB position.

“I don’t think it (the protests) affected the momentum of the game.

“I understand the protest if they are not happy, but I would like to play the game in a normal format.

“I don’t want to get used to this, because that will mean we are still in the situation where we are not completely orientated on our target.”

Selles also provided an injury update after Tom McIntyre had to be substituted before the break with a possible concussion.

He continued: “He’s feeling well. It was more the stitches in his head, he fell down onto his shoulder, so it could possibly be a concussion. It’s not confirmed. It doesn’t look like he will be available for Northampton.”

He also confirmed that Caylan Vickers missed out with illness, while Clinton Mola missed out on the squad due to selection reasons.
