READING FC manager Ruben Selles has confirmed that he expects staff and players to be paid on time this month amid concerns.
The club has faced several financial issues under owner Dai Yongge, with the latest being a missed HMRC tax bill last week.
There had been concerns that wages may not be paid on time this month, but the Royals boss has been reassured that he expects it not to be an issue.
“We were told it’s no problem for us to get our wages tomorrow,” said Selles.
“That information came today so I don’t expect different. If they told us they are confident it will happen then I don’t need to think about why not.
“It is not excellent news, it is normal. You are doing your job, you get paid for that.
“It is normal for anybody. In the circumstances there has been a lot of gossip from outside but I got told today from inside the club from the people responsible that we don’t need to worry about that and that it’s going to be there.”
